EXPERIENCED CONCRETE & MASONRY PROFESSIONAL
to join us.
THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION PAY IS DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE
You MUST be highly skilled and experienced in BOTH concrete AND masonry work. We require a proven record of successful concrete and masonry projects. Applicants must be prepared to provide photographs of completed work, references, and/or other documentation demonstrating their experience and craftsmanship. Applications or resumes without demonstrated experience in BOTH concrete and masonry will not be considered for this position. Our reputation has been built on the quality of work we provide our customers, and every skilled tradesperson we hire must be able to maintain that standard.
CONCRETE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidates must have experience with both residential and commercial concrete work and be capable of independently performing tasks including: Site preparation, excavation, grading and compaction Setting and securing concrete forms Installing rebar, wire mesh and other reinforcement Understanding proper reinforcement placement and structural requirements Directing, pouring and spreading concrete Screeding and leveling concrete to the proper height, grade and slope Floating, troweling, broom finishing and other finishing techniques Creating smooth, textured and slip-resistant finishes Concrete cutting, removal and repair Proper curing and sealing techniques Applying sealants, hardeners and waterproofing products Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other embedded components Understanding how weather and environmental conditions affect concrete placement and curing Reading blueprints, plans and construction specifications Accurately measuring and calculating quantities and dimensions Required concrete project experience should include: Foundations and slabs Driveways Sidewalks and walkways Patios Steps Retaining walls Concrete repairs Residential and commercial flatwork
ADDITIONAL CONCRETE SKILLS

Experience with the following is a plus and will be considered an additional skill, but is not required for this position: Decorative concrete Stamped, stained or textured concrete Candidates must be proficient with concrete tools and equipment, including trowels, floats, screeds, mixers, saws and other commonly used concrete equipment.
MASONRY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidates must also have substantial hands-on experience with residential and commercial masonry work , including: Concrete block and brick installation Spreading and applying mortar properly Building straight, level and plumb walls and structures Natural and manufactured stonework Cutting, shaping and fitting brick, block and stone Mixing mortar, cement and grout to the proper ratios and consistency Proper joint finishing and pointing Using levels, plumb lines and layout lines Reading and interpreting blueprints and architectural plans Accurately laying out masonry projects Calculating materials and dimensions Repairing cracks and damaged masonry Removing and replacing damaged brick, block or stone Masonry restoration and repair Proper flashing, drainage and water-management practices where applicable Working safely from scaffolding and elevated work areas Understanding footing, foundation, reinforcement and structural requirements for block walls and other masonry structures Reading and working from City and County-approved plans and specifications for footings, block walls and other masonry projects Ability to assist with determining construction information, measurements and details needed for City or County plans, permitting and inspections related to concrete and masonry projects Understanding applicable local building requirements and recognizing when work must be inspected before proceeding to the next phase Communicating with supervisors and project management when field conditions differ from approved plans or when clarification is needed before proceeding
CODE COMPLIANCE IS NON-NEGOTIABLE
We are looking for someone who understands that doing the job correctly means more than producing work that looks good. All footings, foundations, block walls, concrete and masonry structures must be constructed according to approved plans and applicable City, County and local building-code requirements. Our skilled tradespeople must be experienced enough to recognize when something in the field does not match the plans, specifications or code requirements. If something does not look right, we expect you to stop, communicate the concern and get clarification rather than simply proceeding. Candidates must be comfortable using masonry hand tools and power equipment, including trowels, levels, hammers, chisels, masonry saws, mixers and other equipment commonly required for the trade.

YOUR OWN TOOLS
Skilled tradespeople must have their own standard hand tools necessary to perform their trade. Mr. Fix It will provide larger and specialized company equipment as appropriate, but applicants for this skilled position are expected to already own and maintain the normal hand tools associated with their trade.
VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE & ACCEPTABLE DRIVING RECORD
You must possess a valid driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to our commercial auto insurance carrier. As part of the hiring process, candidates must authorize Mr. Fix It and/or its insurance carrier to obtain and review their Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Employment for positions requiring operation of company vehicles is contingent upon our insurance carrier determining that the employee is eligible to operate company vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is a skilled construction position and requires the physical ability to safely perform concrete and masonry work throughout the workday, including: Regularly lifting and moving construction materials and tools Lifting and carrying materials weighing 50+ pounds Standing and walking for extended periods Bending, kneeling, crouching and reaching Working at ground level Working outdoors in varying weather conditions Working safely from ladders, scaffolding and elevated surfaces when required Maintaining the stamina necessary for physically demanding construction work Safely loading, unloading and moving materials and tools Wearing and properly using required personal protective equipment (PPE) Following company and jobsite safety procedures at all times
