A Concrete Finisher works with cement workers in a construction process. Smoothes and levels concrete that has been poured, monitors concrete as it hardens, and applies sealants as needed.
Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking experienced Concrete Finishers to support large-scale industrial construction projects in Fremont, CA. This role is responsible for finishing, smoothing, and preparing concrete surfaces to meet project specifications and quality standards. Concrete polishing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong concrete finishing experience who are willing to learn polishing techniques will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Perform concrete finishing, smoothing, edging, and surface preparation on floors, slabs, walls, and other concrete structures. Operate hand tools and mechanical tools used for concrete finishing and surface preparation. Perform concrete placement, leveling, screeding, floating, troweling, edging, and related finishing activities. Assist with concrete polishing and surface preparation; polishing experience preferred but training can be provided. Read and follow construction plans, specifications, and layout information. Perform basic concrete repair, patching, and surface correction as needed. Maintain consistent finish quality and ensure completed work meets project specifications. Work safely around active construction activities and coordinate with other trades. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all site safety requirements. Perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working for extended periods.
Qualifications:
4+ years of concrete finishing experience preferred. Experience with commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction preferred. Concrete polishing experience is a plus but not required; qualified candidates can be trained. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform intensive physical labor for extended periods. Ability to clearly communicate with coworkers and supervisors. Ability to read and follow basic construction plans and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying construction conditions. Candidates with strong concrete finishing experience but limited polishing experience are encouraged to apply. Polishing techniques can be taught to candidates with the right concrete finishing foundation.
