Concrete Finisher Form Setter Gauston Corp Palm Desert, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Rebar installation Construction industry experience Time & attendance systems Full Job Description Job Summary We're looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher / Form Setter to join our field crew. Our work includes concrete foundations, footings, slabs, walls, and related flatwork. Duties Set, align, brace, and strip forms for footings, slabs, curbs, and walls. Follow layout, elevations, grades, and dimensions Place, screed, float, edge, joint, and finish concrete. Install reinforcing steel, dowels, and embeds as assigned. Operate concrete tools and equipment safely. No heavy equipment experience necessary (ex: excavator, backhoe, etc). Maintain a clean work area and work effectively with the foreman and crew. Communicate with foreman and superintendent Effectively use phone application to clock in/out Finish concrete surfaces through smoothing, troweling, caulking, plastering, stucco application, and other techniques to achieve desired textures and appearances. Cut, shape, and modify formwork as needed using concrete cutting tools and other equipment. Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and safety protocols during all phases of work. Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, tile layers, metal stud framers, and plasterers to ensure seamless project execution. Use hand tools and power tools for form installation, concrete pouring, finishing, and surface preparation. Lift heavy materials safely while maintaining proper ergonomics; ensure all work complies with safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete forming and finishing. Professional references required. Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction tools, equipment operation (including concrete mixers), and safety procedures. Knowledge of rebar installation, concrete pouring techniques, and finishing methods such as troweling or stucco application. Experience with hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, levels, and caulking guns. Understanding of construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
