Our team specializes in delivering high-quality structural and commercial concrete projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and the communities we serve. We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager - Concrete Construction to support the planning and execution of projects while helping ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved. Position Summary BlacReporting to the Director of Preconstruction, the Project Estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for commercial concrete projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of structural concrete systems, disciplined scope management, and collaboration with operations to ensure accurate pricing, risk mitigation, and a seamless transition from preconstruction through project execution. Key Responsibilities Thoroughly review project drawings, specifications, addenda, and other documents to confirm complete scope coverage and proactively identify risks. Perform detailed quantity take-offs using On-Screen Takeoff (preferred). Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions. Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals to secure compliance, best value, and competitive pricing. Identify constructability considerations, productivity assumptions, phasing/sequencing, and schedule impacts. Prepare bid forms, proposal letters, qualifications, and scope clarifications. Participate in internal bid reviews to validate scope coverage, manpower assumptions, sequencing, and pricing strategy. Support project turnover meetings and provide thorough scope and pricing breakdowns to Project Management. Assist with pricing of change orders and cost modifications during construction.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction; direct experience estimating cast-in-place concrete projects strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of cast-in-place concrete systems, construction sequencing, and productivity factors. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite (advanced Excel skills a plus). Experience with On-Screen Takeoff strongly preferred; Bluebeam experience a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple pursuits in a deadline-driven environment. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to accuracy.
