Job Description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable individual to join our Concrete Precast team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, with the ability to safely perform manual labor in the production of precast concrete curb tops. The position involves a range of tasks, including using hand tools, handling concrete, reinforcing and assembling forms, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Precast Production Tasks:
Strip prior pours and reset forms for new projects. Reset the forms. Add reinforcing materials and lift cables to forms as needed. Pour concrete into forms to create curb tops. Finish curb tops by using basic hand tools such as a margin trowel, steel trowel, mag float, and broom for finishing. Pull cores and disassemble the core once the curb tops are formed.
Material Handling:
Lift and move materials, including concrete, tools, and reinforcing elements, with proper techniques. Cut and tie rebar, wire cages, and cables using hand tools. Use shovels or trowels to move concrete and ensure smooth, level finishes.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs safely. Perform tasks in hot, humid, and sometimes dusty or noisy work environments.
General Maintenance & Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and accounted for. Follow all safety protocols and instructions from supervisors.
Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and basic shop drawings. Experience or willingness to learn how to use hand tools (e.g., hammer, margin trowel, pigtail, bar tie twisters). Willingness to be taught and learn new skills. Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks within specified timeframes. Previous experience in a precast concrete environment is a plus but not required. Familiarity with shop drawings and basic construction plans is preferred but not required. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, bending, standing, and working with heavy materials. Comfortable working outdoors, under a roof, and/or in hot/cold, humid conditions.
