Concrete Laborer

Concrete Laborer - $18-$22/hour (Based on experience) Waterloo, IA Overview We are seeking a construction laborer to join our growing crew. This role focuses on forming, placing, finishing, and curing concrete surfaces for outdoor construction projects. Ideal candidates take pride in quality craftsmanship, work well on a crew, and are comfortable with physically demanding, outdoor work. Responsibilities Set and align concrete forms to specified pitch, depth, and grade Inspect forms to ensure proper construction and stability Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hand and power trowels, screeds, and floats Finish surfaces using broom techniques to create non-slip textures Mold edges and expansion joints using edging tools, jointers, and straightedges Repair surface imperfections by cleaning chipped or uneven areas with wire brushes and hand tools Apply curing, sealing, and waterproofing compounds to finished concrete surfaces Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor Required Skills & Qualifications Valid driver's license Proven experience in concrete finishing Proficiency with: Hand and power trowels Hand and power screeds Floats and finishing tools Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Work Environment Outdoor construction sites Crew size of 5-6 team members Fast-paced, physically active role Typical workweeks of 45-50 hours Schedule Day shift- 7:00am-4:30pm Overtime available and expected as project demands increase What We Offer Overtime pay Advancement opportunities - we promote from within Performance-based end-of-year bonuses Full benefits package including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Vacation / PTO Paid holidays Why Join Us? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
