Job Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The Concrete Superintendent/Foreman's primary responsibility is to manage, in collaboration with the operation Manager, the successful completion of assigned projects. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage assigned projects from preconstruction to closeout. Ensure Dyrud Construction standards of safety and quality are adhered to with safety team meetings Mentor and develop field team members while effectively managing the overall team. Work collaboratively with superintendents, foremen, project team members, and field. Represent Dyrud Construction in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the field team successfully and collaboratively. Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with clients, construction managers, project team, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, adjacent community, trade unions, and governmental agencies. Review all project documents, including project submittals, RFI's, Change Order's and shop drawings, for completeness and accuracy. Assist Superintendent with initial project set-up including site logistics. Use project management and scheduling software consistently and accurately. Responsible for the financial oversight of field labor. Conduct team meetings daily at start and manage jobsite cleanup at end of day. Other related duties as assigned or needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Construction Management preferred, or related field, and minimum 3 years of experience as a concrete worker, or equivalent role, in the concrete or construction industry. Candidates must have a solid understanding of the concrete industry, job site safety requirements, contract management, planning and scheduling, budgets, building products, and relevant technology. This position requires a high level of fluency reading plans, specifications, and related project documents. Key competencies are leadership, initiative, communication, teamwork, managing for results, and coaching & mentoring.
Technical Skills:
Buildertrend (or equivalent), Topcon, Take-off experience, MS Office Suite, Google workspace.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and/or humidity and cold, fumes or airborne particles, exposure to dust and asphalt, and moving mechanical parts. There may be occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Conditions can also include risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud. The Concrete Manager is regularly required to: Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand. Talk and hear at normal levels. See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus. Reach with hands and arms. Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines. Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Pay is based on experience .   • Read and interpret plans
  • Create and Maintain Concrete Schedule in Buildertrend
  • Maintain schedule with operations manager
  • Maintain vender relations
  • Order supplies as it pertains to schedule and jobs
  • Order Inspections
  • Manage Timeclock, including fixing and saving (ready for approval) hours for concrete personnel (daily, weekly) in Buildertrend
  • Organizing crew/ managing their daily schedules
  • Fixing Timeclock for employees
  • All things go to manager first, then moved up the chain to operations (employee, manager, operations manager, Owner)
  • Quick weekly safety meetings with employees (provided by safety officer) turned in to operations manager
  • Weekly meeting with operations manager
  • All operational work as it pertains to concrete and the work involved
  • Using Buildertrend as operational tool for work and management
  • Report to Operations Manager
  • Report to Dyrud Construction
  • Any, all other assigned Duties to includes form pouring and placing concrete foundations, stripping, packing boards, tying rebar, flatwork, and sitework.
Assist in the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete for various projects. Operate concrete mixers and other equipment necessary for installing, mixing and pouring concrete. Install/tie rebar and perform concrete forming to ensure structural integrity. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing concrete. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and requirements. Collaborate with team members on construction site tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects. Perform heavy lifting as required, moving materials and equipment safely on-site. Engage in renovation, restoration, and remodeling projects as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and processes. Proficiency in rebar installation, concrete forming, finishing. Strong carpentry skills including frame carpentry, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and roofing not necessary but a plus. Previous experience on construction sites is essential for understanding job demands.
