Job Description
Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Concrete / Rebar Estimator to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate material takeoffs, reviewing construction plans and specifications, and developing competitive estimates for reinforcing steel and related concrete accessory products. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting contractors, project managers, and customers. Key Responsibilities Review architectural, civil, and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for reinforcing steel, mesh, accessories, and embedded items. Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for commercial, industrial, and DOT projects. Communicate with contractors, vendors, fabricators, and internal sales staff regarding project scope and pricing. Interpret blueprints and identify potential discrepancies or value engineering opportunities. Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and project documentation. Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to ensure material availability and project timelines. Assist outside sales representatives and project managers with bid follow-up and customer support. Track awarded projects and assist with project handoff to operations and detailing teams. Stay current on industry pricing, market trends, and construction practices. Qualifications Experience in rebar estimating, construction estimating, or related construction industry experience preferred. Knowledge of reinforcing steel, concrete construction practices, and construction terminology. Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and estimating software. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. High attention to detail and accuracy.
