Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher and Block Mason to join our construction team. We work in the Alpena/Alcona County and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing concrete surfaces and constructing walls using concrete blocks, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of masonry techniques, concrete finishing processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. Responsibilities Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power equipment. Construct, repair, and maintain walls, foundations, and other structures with concrete blocks or stones. Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. Mix concrete according to specifications and pour it into forms or designated areas. Operate tools such as trowels, floats, edgers, and screeds to achieve desired surface finishes. Install reinforcement materials like rebar or wire mesh as needed. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes. Maintain a clean work area and properly care for tools and equipment. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on concrete finishing and masonry work Strong mechanical knowledge of tools such as power saws, mixers, trowels, drills, and cutting equipment Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans accurately Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and the safe operation of construction machinery including concrete pumps and mixers Skills in rebar installation, formwork construction, concrete pouring, cutting, finishing, and surface preparation Experience with related trades such as carpentry or drywall installation is a plus Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions Join our team today if you're passionate about craftsmanship in the construction industry! Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 45.0 per week
