Traveling QA/QC Technician Concrete Construction

Job Description

About the Position MAC Precision Concrete is seeking an experienced QA/QC Technician to travel to our projects throughout the United States. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our concrete foundations are constructed according to approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in heavy civil, commercial, industrial, energy, or concrete construction and is comfortable reading construction drawings, taking precise field measurements, identifying issues before they become problems, and maintaining accurate documentation. Responsibilities Travel to active job sites across the U.S. Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals before work begins. Verify excavation dimensions, elevations, depths, and structural fill requirements. Inspect drilled shaft and foundation excavations. Verify rebar placement, spacing, cover, and formwork dimensions prior to concrete placement. Observe concrete placements to ensure compliance with project specifications. Coordinate with testing agencies and customer inspectors. Complete QA/QC inspections, checklists, and reports. Maintain accurate documentation in company software. Report deficiencies and work with field supervision to resolve issues. Verify corrective actions have been completed. Monitor jobsite safety while performing inspections. Communicate daily with project managers, foremen, and clients. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of QA/QC, field engineering, superintendent, foreman, or concrete inspection experience. Experience with structural concrete, foundations, heavy civil, industrial, renewable energy, or utility projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of concrete placement, rebar installation, excavation, and formwork. Experience taking field measurements and verifying work against plans. Comfortable using tablets, Microsoft Office, and construction documentation software. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively. Preferred Qualifications ACI Field Testing Technician certification ICC or similar inspection certifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Experience with surveying equipment or layout verification Experience with Raken, Procore, or similar construction management software What We're Looking For Strong attention to detail High level of integrity and accountability Self-motivated and able to work independently Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Willing to spend extended periods traveling to projects throughout the United States Ability to identify problems early and communicate solutions effectively
Pay:
$28.55 - $34.38 per hour
