Concrete Sawcutting / Utility Laborer

•Immediate Start Avery Construction is a Fargo-based concrete company looking for an experienced and dependable Concrete Sawcutting / Utility Laborer to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 concrete season. The primary responsibility of this position will be handling concrete sawcutting across our active projects. We need someone who understands proper sawcutting procedures and can eventually work independently without requiring constant supervision. This position will perform two primary types of sawcutting: Existing concrete sawcutting for demolition

•making clean, accurate cuts in existing slabs, driveways, sidewalks, floors, and other concrete so designated areas can be removed without damaging concrete that is intended to remain. New concrete control-joint sawcutting

•returning to recently poured projects to accurately lay out and cut control/contraction joints at the proper locations and depths. When sawcutting work is completed, this position will assist our concrete crews with general field and utility work.

Responsibilities:

Sawcut existing concrete in preparation for demolition and removal Sawcut newly placed concrete for control/contraction joints Lay out straight and accurate sawcut lines Understand proper sawcut depth, spacing, timing, and joint locations Safely operate walk-behind concrete saws, handheld saws, and related equipment Protect surrounding structures and finished concrete while cutting Maintain saws, blades, hoses, and related equipment Clean up slurry, dust, and debris after cutting Coordinate with foremen regarding completed pours and upcoming demolition work Travel between multiple jobsites as needed Assist crews with demolition, stripping, cleanup, equipment operation, and other concrete work when sawcutting is complete

What We're Looking For:

Previous concrete sawcutting experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently and manage a daily list of jobs Understanding of concrete control/contraction joint layout Experience cutting existing concrete for selective demolition Comfortable operating concrete saws and power equipment Dependable and able to show up when scheduled — some new-concrete sawcutting may require early mornings depending on pour timing and conditions Valid driver's license and clean/reasonable driving record Strong attention to detail — cuts need to be straight, properly located, and completed without damaging surrounding work Concrete construction experience is a plus We are looking for someone we can trust to take ownership of our sawcutting needs and keep our crews moving without tying up a foreman or experienced crew member.

Schedule:

Full-time seasonal with overtime as needed

Pay:

$28

•34/hour depending on sawcutting and concrete experience
