This is not a generalist position — we need someone who knows concrete and masonry inside and out, from reading structural drawings to delivering airtight bids on competitive commercial and industrial projects in the Newark, NJ market. What You'll Do Perform detailed material takeoffs for cast-in-place concrete, CMU, brick, reinforced masonry, formwork, rebar, grout, and related scopes Prepare and submit complete bid packages including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs Review and analyze subcontractor quotes and level bids for Division 3 and 4 scopes Coordinate with Project Managers to align cost estimates with project schedules and phasing Attend pre-bid walks, site visits, and scope review meetings Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising structural or design intent Maintain and update unit cost databases for concrete and masonry work Assist in post-bid buyout and scope gap analysis What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of estimating experience specifically in Division 3 and/or Division 4 scopes Strong working knowledge of cast-in-place concrete, precast, CMU, brick veneer, stone, tuckpointing, and masonry restoration Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and geotech reports Proficiency with estimating software — Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage Estimating, or equivalent Solid understanding of NJ prevailing wage, union labor rates, and local subcontractor market Experience working for a General Contractor or Specialty Concrete/Masonry Subcontractor preferred Strong math, organizational, and communication skills OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company contribution Stable pipeline of work with a growing firm
