This role provides hands-on leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Metcon' s quality standards. The Foreman coordinates manpower, materials, and equipment while fostering teamwork and alignment with Metcon' s Core Values, Mission, and Vision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Master all the prerequisites for Laborer, Flatwork Finisher, and Formwork Technician roles.
- Plan and oversee all daily field activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate scheduling of manpower, equipment, and materials in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Perform daily walkthroughs to confirm proper materials and tools are on site, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
- Enforce and train quality standards on all tasks; inspect work regularly to maintain excellence.
- Review blueprints and specifications to understand project requirements; identify and communicate discrepancies.
- Coordinate and maintain communication with Project Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Complete and submit accurate daily job reports and ensure all team members' time is recorded properly.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment assigned to the project.
- Administer jobsite safety, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
- Perform advanced construction duties as needed to support project completion.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with team members, clients, inspectors, and partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and communication skills; able to lead and motivate teams.
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize and delegate effectively.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong understanding of Metcon's Core Values and ability to lead by example.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License.
- OSHA safety certification preferred (or must obtain within first 90 days). Physical Requirements
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in various weather conditions, which may include walking, climbing, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- May require travel.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.
- Must be available to address jobsite issues, delays, and emergencies as needed.
