Traveling Project Manager - ConcretePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager specializing in concrete construction to lead and deliver industrial and commercial projects across multiple sites. This role is responsible for coordinating field operations, managing subcontractors and supply chains, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and maintaining project schedules and budgets while traveling to project locations as required. The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with hands-on concrete experience in industrial environments and the flexibility to work on-site for extended periods.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage multiple concrete construction projects from mobilization through closeout, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Travel to project sites to provide on-site leadership, monitor progress, and resolve technical and logistical issues.
Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and budgets; track progress and implement corrective actions when needed.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and labor forces; ensure scope clarity and performance to contract requirements.
Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and concrete mix designs; provide technical guidance to field teams.
Enforce safety protocols and quality control procedures; conduct inspections, document deviations, and implement corrective measures.
Maintain clear communication with owners, general contractors, and stakeholders; prepare regular progress reports and meeting minutes.
Manage procurement and logistics for materials, equipment, and testing services; optimize resource allocation across sites.
Oversee testing, curing, and finishing processes to meet structural and surface quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, updating procedures, and mentoring onsite personnel.
Qualifications5+ years of project management experience in concrete construction, with a track record of delivering industrial or heavy-commercial projects.
Proven experience working as a traveling or multi-site project manager with willingness to be on-site for extended durations and travel frequently.
Strong knowledge of concrete materials, mixes, placement, finishing, curing, and common repair techniques.
Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and cost control tools.
