Overview Waller Masonry & Concrete is seeking a skilled Mason / Bricklayer to join our team for an immediate opening. While your primary background should be in masonry, this role is perfect for a craftsman who is willing to learn or expand their skills into concrete work . No prior concrete finishing experience? No problem—we provide on-the-job training. We will teach you our specific concrete pouring, leveling, and finishing techniques. Duties & Responsibilities Masonry Duties:
Mix mud, lay block, prepare work areas, grind, and tuck-point as needed.
Concrete Preparation:
Set up work areas for concrete pouring, including framing and leveling forms. Pouring & Finishing (Training Provided): Mix, pour, and spread concrete. Learn to finish surfaces using trowels, floats, and screeds to achieve smooth, aesthetically pleasing textures. Apply sealers or curing compounds to protect finished surfaces. Collaborate with other construction professionals (carpenters, welders) to ensure project specs are met. Perform repairs on existing concrete and masonry structures. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience as a Mason, Bricklayer, or a similar role in the construction industry. Willingness to learn concrete finishing (prior experience is a plus, but not required). Proficiency with standard hand and power tools. Familiarity with frame carpentry, trim carpentry, or stucco is a plus. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work well in a team environment while remaining self-motivated.
