Civil Engineering Full Job Description Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Control Technician to ensure our Redi-Mix concrete products meet the highest standards of quality and consistency. The ideal candidate will conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete materials, monitor production processes, and help maintain compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

 Perform daily quality control testing on fresh and hardened concrete.  Monitor consistency, air content, temperature, slump, and unit weight of concrete in accordance with ASTM standards.  Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory and field-testing equipment.  Assist in mix design development and adjustments based on raw materials and performance.  Collect, record, and analyze data to identify trends or quality issues.  Work with batch operators and production staff to ensure concrete quality is maintained from plant to job site.  Complete and maintain accurate QC documentation and reports.  Communicate with customers, inspectors, and project managers regarding concrete performance and delivery.  Investigate product non-conformance and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.  Stay up to date with industry standards and participate in internal or external training as needed.

Qualifications:

 High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or technical degree in construction materials, civil engineering, or related field preferred.  1-3 years of experience in concrete quality control, ready-mix, or construction materials testing preferred.  ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I certification (or ability to obtain within 120 days).  Working knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT specifications.  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.  Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

 Field and plant-based environment with exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and construction activity.  Occasional weekend or extended hours based on project needs.  Travel to various job sites may be required.
