This role involves hands-on work with concrete and related materials to create durable, high-quality structures. Duties Prepare and set up formwork for sidewalks, foundations, and cement stairs according to blueprints and specifications. Mix and pour concrete using mixers and other power tools to ensure proper consistency and placement. Install rebar reinforcement to strengthen concrete structures following schematics and safety standards. Finish concrete surfaces with tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers to achieve smooth, professional results. Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate execution of project requirements. Operate heavy equipment like concrete pumps and mixers safely on-site to facilitate efficient workflow. Follow all construction safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), heavy lifting techniques, and hazard awareness. Skills Mechanical knowledge related to concrete mixing, cutting, pouring, and finishing techniques. Construction estimating skills to assist in project planning and resource management. Experience with hardscape projects such as sidewalks, stairs, patios, and other masonry work. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to concrete work. Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Strong background in construction site experience including framing, masonry, plastering, restoration, roofing, tile laying, and caulking.
