  • $50 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Excavator Compactors Stormwater systems Sanitary sewers Grading Water systems Dozer Loader operation Construction trenching Time management Full Job Description ```Job Summary``` We are seeking at least one (and maybe two) skilled and experienced working Foreman to join our team.
We have several active projects in the Sacramento area, another in Tracy starting in late August, and at least one or two more expected to start in the fall. The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on role that requires organization, initiative, strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively direct team members and communicate with clients & inspectors.
PLEASE NOTE
we are looking for somebody specifically with strong experience in WET utility installation (storm, sewer, water); ie, assembling water meters, backflows, fire hydrants, valves, manholes, etc. (Experience with gas, electric, and/or communication utilities is usually not transferable to the work we perform) ```Responsibilities```
  • Manage and supervise construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, per specifications, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations. Typical scopes include demo/site clearance, grading, wet utility installation, base rock installation for pavements, bio-retention basins.
  • Schedule and coordinate haul trucks as needed for import/export of material, coordinate deliveries from suppliers as needed
  • Collaborate with office staff, GCs, engineers, and inspectors to resolve any construction issues
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation including daily logs, site photographs, and detailed T&M logs for change orders, and coordinate with the office to get that paperwork processed smoothly
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and enforce safety protocols on the job site
  • Typical projects will require managing crews between 3-5 operators/laborers, for sites between 1-5 acres. ```Skills``` The Foreman should possess the following skills:
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes, techniques, and materials
  • Familiarity with reading civil plan sets, public construction standards, installation schematics for wet utility structures and appurtenances
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address issues that may arise during construction projects to keep projects on schedule
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, inspectors
  • Capacity to operate heavy equipment as needed would be a BIG plus; equipment we use includes excavators, dozers, loaders/backhoe, roller compactors, motor grader, dump trucks, water trucks.
Some of our equipment is equipped with Trimble GPS and robotics—please mention any additional experience with those systems We work on primarily non-union private commercial or residential projects, usually within a 50-75 mile radius of Sacramento, but we also build residential housepads in the hills, and just contracted our public works (PW) project as well. We run 8-hour 5-day workweeks Mon-Fri; capacity to occasionally engage in overtime or work weekends as needed would be helpful. Compensation will depend on experience with civil sitework construction activities and competency with different types of equipment (if applicable). 00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have experience with domestic/fire line installation, including assembling water meters, backflows, and fire hydrants? Do you have experience installing gravity lines such as sewer and storm, including lines deeper than 10ft, up to 24" in size? Do you have experience assembling concrete drain structures such as manholes and drain inlets, including setting forms for and pouring concrete cast-in-place bases? Do you have experience with grading, including mass grading to balance the site, as well as finish grading for building pads, curbs & pavements? Do you have experience operating heavy equipment, including (but not necessarily limited to) excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, or motor graders? Have you used those kinds of equipment to perform the same scopes of work that we do? Do you have a comprehensive understanding of civil sitework that would allow you to accurately describe and/or explain that work to someone who doesn't understand it? (Either for training others, or when communicating work performed for a change order, it needs to be understood by owners who don't have construction exp.)
