Colorado Springs, CO Company Overview El Paso Electric is a locally owned, service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) specializing in high-quality commercial electrical construction & service in the Pikes Peak region. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, dependable Electrical Foreman to lead field crews on commercial construction projects. This individual will run jobsites day-to-day, directly supervising journeymen, apprentices, and helpers while coordinating with the project manager, general contractor, other trades, and the owner. The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial electrician who leads from the front — setting the standard for safety, quality, productivity, and collaboration. S/he must show up consistently, on time, ready to work. S/he must be able to plan ahead, manage labor and materials efficiently, and keep work moving on schedule and on budget. Successful foremen at El Paso Electric demonstrate strong technical skill, sound judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to develop the people on their crew. S/he will play a key role in building and maintaining a productive, safe, supportive, and thriving team and work environment. What You'll Do Lead day-to-day field operations on commercial electrical projects — new construction, tenant finish, and renovation Directly supervise journeyman electricians, apprentices, and helpers; assign tasks, set expectations, and hold the crew accountable for quality, safety, and productivity Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, single-line diagrams, schematics, submittals, RFIs, and project specifications Plan, lay out, and execute installation of conduit, cable tray, wiring, gear, panels, transformers, switchgear, lighting, and controls per plans, specifications, and NEC Coordinate with the project manager on manpower, material, tool, and equipment needs; order and stage materials to keep the crew productive Coordinate daily with the general contractor, superintendent, and other trades to sequence work, resolve conflicts, and maintain schedule Own the jobsite safety program in the field: lead toolbox talks, enforce PPE and hot-work requirements, complete JHAs, and stop work when conditions are unsafe Track and report daily production, manpower, and progress; complete daily field reports, timecards, and as-built markups accurately and on time Identify changes in scope and communicate potential change orders, RFIs, and schedule impacts to the project manager promptly Walk the job with inspectors, owners, and the GC; coordinate and pass rough-in, trim, and final inspections Mentor and develop apprentices — sign off on work categories, verify hours, and provide constructive feedback that helps them progress in the trade Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and the jobsite in clean, organized, and safe condition at all times Support startup, testing, commissioning, punch list, and closeout activities Who You Are Reliable, punctual, and consistent — you set the tone for the crew and show up every day ready to work A working foreman who leads by example and is comfortable with tools in hand when the job calls for it Strong technical command of commercial electrical systems, NEC, and means and methods Able to plan a week ahead: labor, material, equipment, and sequencing Clear, respectful communicator with the crew, other trades, GCs, inspectors, and owners Safety-first mindset — you don't tolerate shortcuts that put people at risk Attention to detail and a concern for doing quality work the first time Comfortable giving direction, holding people accountable, and delivering constructive feedback Team-oriented with a positive attitude and respect for coworkers and other trades Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions: heights, confined spaces, outdoor weather, and on your feet all day High degree of flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing jobsite priorities Takes personal accountability for your crew, your work, your tools, and your professional development Requirements Current Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician license (or ability to reciprocate into Colorado promptly) 5+ years of commercial electrical experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or foreman role Demonstrated ability to run a commercial crew of 3+ electricians on projects of meaningful size and complexity Proficient at reading and building from commercial blueprints, specifications, and submittals Working knowledge of the current NEC Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders and lifts, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday Own full set of hand tools appropriate to a journeyman/foreman (company will provide specialty tools and equipment) Reliable personal transportation to jobsites throughout the Pikes Peak region Ability to complete and pass I-9 identity and legal employment authorization Preferred OSHA 30 certification First Aid/CPR certification Aerial lift, scissor lift, and/or forklift certification Experience with design-build and design-assist commercial projects Experience with service upgrades, switchgear, gear replacements, and generator/ATS installations Experience healthcare, government, or mission-critical projects Experience using construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) and digital timekeeping Prior military background Flexibility to travel out-of-town for non-local projects (per-diem & lodging costs would be provided) Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience and license level Competitive Paid Time Off (PTO) and company holidays Direct care health membership subsidy Available 401k for optional pre-tax savings/investments Leadership role on meaningful commercial projects in the Pikes Peak region Opportunity to develop and mentor the next generation of electricians Eligibility for company-provided vehicle or vehicle allowance (based on role and tenure) Eligibility for company-provided phone or phone allowanceJob Details Location:
