This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to company and customer specifications. The Foreman serves as the primary on-site leader, managing daily construction activities, equipment, materials, and crew performance. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead telecommunications construction crews on aerial, underground, and fiber optic projects. Coordinate daily job site activities, schedules, and work assignments. Read and interpret construction prints, utility maps, splice diagrams, and project specifications. Ensure all work complies with company standards, customer requirements, OSHA regulations, and local/state codes. Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safe work practices. Monitor project progress and communicate updates to project managers and supervisors. Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met. Manage labor hours, equipment usage, and material inventory. Operate and oversee use of construction equipment including bucket trucks, trenchers, directional drills, and cable placement tools. Coordinate with utility companies, inspectors, subcontractors, and customers as needed. Train and mentor crew members on construction methods, safety procedures, and company expectations. Complete required documentation including timesheets, production reports, safety reports, and as-built documentation. Troubleshoot field issues and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 3-7 years of telecommunications construction experience. Prior supervisory or crew leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of fiber optic, coaxial, and copper telecommunications systems. Ability to read blueprints, staking sheets, and utility locates. Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and traffic control procedures. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred. Ability to travel to job sites as required. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Preferred Skills Knowledge of underground and aerial construction practices. Familiarity with DOT regulations and utility permitting. Proficiency with project tracking software and mobile reporting tools. First Aid/CPR certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods. Ability to operate heavy equipment and construction vehicles safely.
