Job Description

General Description Vertical Earth is seeking an experienced Pipe Crew Foreman to lead field crews performing the installation of underground utilities, including water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive underground utility experience, and the ability to safely manage crews while delivering high-quality work. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate pipe crew personnel, including equipment operators, pipe layers, and laborers. Read and interpret blueprints, plans, grades, and specifications to direct daily work activities. Plan and schedule crew activities to ensure labor, materials, tools, and equipment are available and utilized efficiently. Install and oversee construction of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems in accordance with project specifications. Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure quality standards, project requirements, and safety regulations are met. Train, mentor, and develop crew members while promoting a culture of safety and productivity. Complete daily reports, timecards, production tracking, and material usage documentation. Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to maintain production schedules. Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure all crew members follow company safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required. Minimum of 5 years of underground utility construction experience. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or foreman experience leading pipe crews. Extensive experience installing water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and utility profiles. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Thorough understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physical job site environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on DOT, municipal, or large-scale site development projects. OSHA 30 certification. CDL. Existing, experienced pipe crew willing to join the company.
