Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our team, specializing in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
Three position levels are available:
Helper:
Starting at $18/hr.Industrial Electrician:
Starting at $22/hr.Certified Electrician:
Starting at $28/hr. Pay is based on experience plus $1.50/HR shift differential. Monday-Friday 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm 2nd shift: 3pm-11:30p This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures across various construction sites and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical principles, safety standards, and hands-on experience with diverse electrical systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals committed to precision, safety, and technical excellence to contribute to complex projects that power our infrastructure. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments, ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, bending, and connecting electrical components. Test electrical circuits using instruments such as ohmmeters to verify proper operation and identify faults. Work on construction sites adhering to safety protocols while coordinating with other trades like frame carpentry. Assist with low voltage and high voltage wiring installations, ensuring proper insulation and grounding. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and materials used for project records. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines. Support the training of apprentice electricians or helpers as needed. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings; construction site experience is highly valued. Knowledge of NEC standards, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Proficiency with hand tools such as pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, along with power tools including drills and saws. Experience working with low voltage (e.g., data/communications) and high voltage (e.g., power distribution) systems. Ability to operate testing instruments like ohmmeters confidently. Familiarity with construction practices including frame carpentry is a plus. Strong understanding of electrical theory combined with practical application skills. Valid electrician license or certification preferred; relevant helper or apprentice status considered.
