Job Description
Job Purpose Provide organization and technical expertise to install commercial plumbing (HVAC systems) service for the project in accordance with the contract documents. Direct workflow consistent with schedule, communicate priorities to the field crew and our subcontractors. Provide leadership by studying contract documents, shop drawings, submittals and schedule to ensure proper means and methods are employed to accomplish the work on time in a safe and quality manner. Job Summary Share responsibility for execution of Ivey Mechanical's Safety plan at the job site and ensure all company policies are followed. Provide quality control by studying drawings, questioning uncertain details, continuously walking the job, and inspecting installed work to ensure all installations match plan and specifications. Be a problem solver prior to the work taking place communicating expectation and monitoring results. Taking action to correct inefficiencies providing training and instructions to work force as needed. Responsibilities Provide leadership by using effective verbal and written communication to manage the field personnel and our subcontractors as well as interact with our customers, engineers, and owners on behalf of Ivey Mechanical Co. At project inception conduct a proactive review of the documents and the site to assess all constructability issues associated with the project. Continue a proactive approach throughout the project to identify potential problems/conflicts and assist with solutions. Start up the project assessing safety requirements and site logistics. Schedule and document safety meetings ensuring we comply with Ivey Mechanical's safety policies. Set up process to ensure our employees and subcontractors follow job site specific safety requirements, OSHA requirements, and reporting requirements. Ensure all required HR and Safety literature is posted. Review and participate in development of shop drawings, CAD drawings, and BIM drawings. Coordinate our work with other trades. Maintain proper job site daily reports. Maintain Ivey Mechanical's work areas in a neat and clean manner representing a professional appearance and maintaining a safe work environment. Maintain a 3-week look ahead that reflects the base schedule meeting with our team daily communication issues of possible delays to the superintendent. Take responsibility for completing the job on time. Maintain good working relationship with customer and inspectors. Ensure all commitments are met. Maintain as-built drawings in a neat and professional manner. Technical Skills Demonstrate a working knowledge of commercial construction. Knowledge and understanding of the CAD coordination and BIM process. Knowledge and understanding of prefabrication process. Some knowledge and experience with MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Possesses the ability to recognize problems and generate workable solutions for approval and follow through to resolution of problems.
