Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Excavation Supervisor to lead and oversee excavation operations on construction sites. The working foreman position plays a pivotal role involving managing excavation crews, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, customer service skills, and proficiency with construction management software and technical tools. If you are a self-starter who can take a project from planning through completion, ensuring safety, a quality end product, and timely delivery, we hope to hear from you. Responsibilities Supervise excavation activities, including trenching, grading, and site preparation, ensuring adherence to project plans and schematics. Coordinate daily work schedules with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to optimize workflow and resource allocation. Enforce strict safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately. Utilize construction management software such as Construction Foreman for project information, manage daily inspections and worksheets. Manage subcontractors and crews, needs supervising experience to ensure quality control and productivity standards are met. Maintain comprehensive records of daily activities, safety incidents, change orders, and contractual documentation related to excavation work. Experience Proven construction site experience with a focus on excavation projects. Demonstrated management or supervising experience leading excavation crews. Strong understanding of construction management practices including project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration. Computer proficiency a must and a familiarity with Construction Foreman estimating program or similiar, MS Office programs and google calendar. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to excavation work; ability to enforce safety policies effectively. Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating techniques. Ability to maintain service records for equipment, do minor maintenance work or repairs as needed. Clean driving record with no DUI or DWI and valid drivers license a must. A CDL-A is preferred but not required. Join us to lead our crews and make a positive impact on our community.
