Job Description
Description Responsible for providing high quality customer service to faculty, staff, patients and families. Duties include supervising, coaching and providing counsel to Telephone Operators. Ensures calls are answered in a timely and efficient manner. Responsible for voice and wireless communications to Medical Center staff. Responsibilities 1. Supervises employees engaged in providing telecommunication services to faculty, staff, patients and other departments. 2. Monitors productivity of Telephone Operators and call center. 3. Oversees all aspects of the telecommunication functions including telephone systems failures, Message One Alerts and Emergency Preparedness Fire Alerts. 4. Handles emergencies effectively and expeditiously. And retrieval. 5. Orients and trains subordinate staff regarding policies and procedures to ensure quality standards and services are met. Performs human resources functions including interviewing, selection, performance evaluation, promotion and disciplinary action. 6. Assists in the interview process and selection, performance evaluations, promotions and disciplinary actions. 7. Monitors service levels and provides recommendations on procedural, operational, and policy changes for the department. 8. Responsible for issuing and maintaining pager inventory. Responds to calls from subordinates to direct activities during emergencies. 9. Responsible for sending telegrams. Acts as a liaison with helpdesk and network staff to ensure excellent support and operations of the systems 10. Maintains directory database and on-call schedules. 11. Performs other related duties. Qualifications High school diploma or GED 3 years' experience in telecommunications or related field. Supervisory experience preferred.
