We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to oversee the day-to-day electrical activities on commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for leading field crews, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining project schedules, and promoting a safe and productive work environment. The Electrical Foreman will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead electricians, apprentices, and helpers on commercial construction projects. Coordinate daily job site activities and assign tasks to field personnel. Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings accurately. Install, troubleshoot, and oversee electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with project requirements. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical and building codes. Train and mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians while promoting professional growth and development. Monitor project progress and communicate any challenges or delays to Project Managers or Superintendents. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while enforcing company safety policies and procedures. Coordinate material needs and communicate shortages or delivery requirements to ensure productivity is maintained. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure installations meet company and customer standards. Utilize company technology, including tablets, computers, and project management software, for documentation and communication as required. Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide practical solutions in the field. Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, inspectors, and fellow team members.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of commercial electrical experience preferred. Previous experience in a Foreman or lead supervisory role required. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and commercial electrical construction practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and wiring diagrams. Proficient with technology, including computers, tablets, email, and Microsoft Office programs. Self-motivated with strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage field personnel. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to work 40+ hours per week and meet project deadlines. Valid driver's license required. Personal cell phone required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with commercial new construction and renovation projects. Experience supervising and training apprentices. Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of project sequencing and field coordination.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$26.90 - $32.39 per hour, based on experience.
