Job Description

General Construction Laborer Black Mountain Excavation — Milliken, Colorado Position Summary Black Mountain Excavation is seeking a hard-working, dependable General Construction Laborer to join our team. This is a hands-on position supporting excavation, grading, utilities, site development, and civil construction projects. The ideal candidate is someone who isn't afraid to work , can take direction, works well with equipment operators and foremen, and takes pride in completing quality work. Construction experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. This is a physical, outdoor position and requires employees to be willing to perform a variety of tasks throughout the workday. Responsibilities Assist equipment operators, foremen, and other crew members with daily construction activities.
Perform general labor including:
Shoveling Raking Grading Excavation cleanup Moving materials Hand digging Site cleanup Loading and unloading materials Assist with installation of underground utilities, pipe, structures, drainage systems, and other site improvements. Assist with preparation of work areas for excavation and grading. Help set and maintain grades, stakes, and layout as directed. Spot heavy equipment and trucks when necessary. Work around excavators, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, and other construction equipment. Assist operators with measuring, checking grades, and maintaining proper excavation dimensions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Load, unload, and properly care for tools, equipment, and materials. Follow instructions from foremen and project managers. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, damaged equipment, or other concerns. Perform additional duties as necessary to help complete projects safely and efficiently. Required Qualifications Previous construction experience preferred but not required . Willingness to learn and work hard. Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and construction activities. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday. Must be willing to perform a variety of tasks rather than being limited to one specific job. What We're Looking For The right candidate should be: Dependable and punctual. Hard-working and motivated. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent physical activity, including: Lifting and carrying materials and tools. Shoveling, raking, digging, and moving dirt and aggregate. Bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing. Walking and standing for extended periods. Working on uneven or rough terrain. Working around dust, dirt, noise, and heavy equipment. Working outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and other adverse weather conditions.
