Charles Town, WV Position Type:
Direct Placement (Full-Time, Permanent) Build Your Career in Heavy Construction Are you hard-working, reliable, and looking for a real career path instead of just another job? We are hiring a General Laborer for heavy civil and utility construction projects in Charles Town, WV . No prior heavy civil experience is required. If you bring a strong work ethic, rock-solid reliability, and a focus on safety, we will train you on the tools, trade skills, and machinery you need to build a high-paying, long-term career. Your Development Path We don't want you to stay a laborer forever. We offer a clear, structured path for advancement :
General Laborer:
Master hands-on tools, safety protocols, compaction, and pipe laser setup.
Pipe Layer:
Learn to lay, set, and secure underground utility systems.
Equipment Operator:
Earn your seat in excavator, loader, and dozer cabs!
Key Responsibilities Hands-On Site Work:
Work alongside experienced tradespeople using hand and power tools for trenching, utility setup, and site preparation.
Compaction & Grade Tools:
Operate compaction equipment (rammers, plate compactors, rollers) and set up pipe lasers for proper grade alignment.
Machine Operation:
Learn to operate small pieces of construction equipment as you complete site training.
Safety & Support:
Assist with staging materials, maintaining trench safety, and ensuring a safe, efficient jobsite.
Candidate Requirements Driver's License:
Valid Driver's License required.
Certifications:
OSHA 10 certification is preferred, but a willingness to obtain it upon hire is required .
Experience:
Entry level! No prior heavy civil experience required. (Prior general construction or pipe laying experience is a plus.)
