As a subcontractor, you will be responsible for expertly installing wallpaper in residential and commercial spaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client expectations. You will work independently or with a team to transform spaces efficiently while adhering to safety standards and project timelines. Responsibilities Prepare walls and surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion of wallpaper. Measure walls accurately, interpret technical drawings, and plan wallpaper layouts for seamless results. Install various types of wallpaper using hand tools, brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), and conventional spray equipment. Use ladders safely to reach high or difficult areas during installation or removal processes. Conduct surface inspections throughout the project to ensure proper adhesion, alignment, and finish quality. Remove old wallpaper carefully while minimizing damage to underlying surfaces during renovation or remodeling projects. Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Qualifications Proven experience in wallpaper installation within residential or commercial settings; construction site experience is highly valued. Knowledge of construction estimating, surface preparation techniques, and coating applications. Familiarity with color theory for matching patterns and achieving desired aesthetic effects. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including industrial airless systems), brushes, rollers, and other application equipment. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications accurately. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting and renovation activities. Experience with drywall repair, caulking, stucco work, fixture installation, and general handyman tasks is a plus. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience with construction estimating is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail with an eye for visual color comparison and quality finishes. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced renovation or remodeling projects.
