This is a hands-on field position , not a driving-only position. The selected candidate will be responsible for safely operating and transporting commercial vehicles, construction equipment, materials, and machinery to and from active roadway construction projects while also working alongside our field crews. Our work primarily consists of traffic signalization, roadway signs, and structural construction , including the installation and maintenance of traffic signals, mast arms, strain poles, pedestrian signals, signs, foundations, underground conduit systems, pull boxes, electrical service equipment, and other roadway infrastructure. Primary Responsibilities Operate flatbed tractor-trailers / 18-wheelers to transport construction materials, equipment, machinery, traffic signal poles, mast arms, signs, and other oversized or heavy materials. Operate bucket trucks, crane trucks, utility trucks, flatbeds, and other commercial vehicles as assigned. Operate construction equipment and heavy machinery such as excavators, mini excavators, loaders, forklifts, skid steers, air compressors, trailers, and related equipment , based on experience and qualifications. Assist with the loading, securing, transportation, unloading, and staging of construction materials and equipment. Assist crews with the installation of traffic signal poles, mast arms, pedestrian poles, signal heads, signs, foundations, pull boxes, conduit, electrical service equipment, and related infrastructure . Assist with underground construction, excavation, trenching, directional bore support, conduit installation, concrete work, and site restoration. Perform construction labor when driving or equipment operation is not required. Assist with setting up and maintaining Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) operations and safe work zones. Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections and immediately report mechanical or safety concerns. Properly secure loads and comply with applicable DOT, CDL, company, and jobsite safety requirements . Maintain vehicles, equipment, tools, and assigned work areas in clean and serviceable condition. Work safely around active roadways, heavy equipment, cranes, overhead utilities, underground utilities, and energized traffic signal systems. Follow instructions from project managers, superintendents, foremen, and crew leaders. Be available for day work, night work, weekend work, and changing project schedules when required. Position Expectations This position requires an individual who is willing and able to perform both CDL driving and physical construction work . Applicants looking exclusively for a driving position should not apply. When transportation duties are complete, the employee is expected to work alongside the construction crew and assist wherever needed. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable around heavy equipment, experienced in roadway or utility construction, and capable of working safely and efficiently in an active construction environment.
Pay:
$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
