Overview The Construction Technician I position is responsible for performing basic inspection tasks on infrastructure projects to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements while gaining hands-on experience under the supervision of senior staff.
Responsibilities:
Conduct basic field inspections of construction activities and installed work. Assist with daily reporting, documentation, and verification of construction progress. Monitor job site safety practices and traffic control measures as applicable. Take field measurements using standard tools and support data collection. Communicate with contractors and project team members to coordinate activities and escalate field issues. Follow direction from supervisory staff and contribute to inspection quality and accuracy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications. Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standard inspection practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections and documentation. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Reliability and dependability. Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed.
