Job Description
Job Overview Kentucky Solid Surface is a custom countertop manufacturing facility that utilizes CNC machinery as well as hand tools to custom-build granite, quartz, marble and acrylic solid surface countertops. Kentucky Solid Surface performs our own measurements, design, fabrication and installations. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be executing a variety of carpentry and labor tasks across diverse projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship and efficient workflow. Your energy, attention to detail, and hands-on expertise will contribute directly to the successful completion of residential, commercial, and restoration projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to high-quality construction and renovation work. An employee in this role would be expected to perform a variety of tasks from in-shop fabrication labor as well as installation of our products on commercial jobsites. Familiarity with custom cabinets and/or commercial casework, experience with hand tools and commercial jobsites, unique problem-solving skills and ability to work with together as a team are vital parts of the job. Duties Assist with cutting and finishing custom-built countertops in-shop. Operate hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery safely and effectively to perform various construction tasks. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute project requirements. Prepare and load vehicles with finished parts and tools required to complete installations. Install countertop components while ensuring precise alignment and secure fastening in line with company standards. Work in team setting in-shop and on jobsites to plan and execute daily goals. Conduct heavy lifting and material handling safely. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or related fields with knowledge of carpentry techniques including trim carpentry, framing, and metal stud framing. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprints reading, and fabrication processes. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces when required. Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites; OSHA certification is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
