Job Description

Marine Boatyard General Laborer/Cleaner - Belmont, ME Belmont Boatworks is located 5 miles inland from Belfast harbor in Belmont, ME. We are seeking a general yard laborer as an entry-level position. Position is seasonal part-time or full time. For the right candidate, there is room for growth and a full-time year around position. Core Job Duties:
Reports to Service Manager and works directly with Yard Supervisor. Operate pressure washer daily Manual lifting and repetitive moving and organizing of wood blocks and boat stands Prep and General facility maintenance, cleaning and care. Assist with shrink-wrap application Boat cleaning, buffing and waxing. Assists with prep and rolling seasonal hull bottom paint
Maintenance & Other Job Duties:
Assist in other departments as directed, including mechanical, carpentry, and painting. Assist with snow removal Assist with inventorying boats, dinghies, outboards and masts Assist with upgrades to the facility or to the business vehicles Experience operating a forklift a plus Ability to back up a trailer a plus
Physical & Technical Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Able to comfortably climb a ladder up to 15ft Able to lift 50 lbs. Reliable transportation to and from work
Skills and Education Specifications:
Must be comfortable working on boats in the water (physically agile with no fear of the water), as well as working on boats in the shop and yard Good interpersonal skills & the ability to deal with all levels of employees from skilled labor to upper management Exemplary verbal communication skills Ability to work well with others and maintain a professional and positive attitude with both customers and employees Entry level position with growth potential
