Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Construction Cleanup Person / Handyman to join the O'Grady Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized job site during and after construction activities. You will also perform basic handyman tasks to support the construction crew and help ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently. This job will be conducted primarily in Peninsula Township and Eastbay Township, both of which are located in Traverse City. Key Responsibilities Perform daily cleanup of construction sites, including sweeping, vacuuming, and removing debris, dust, and waste materials Dispose of construction waste properly according to safety and environmental guidelines Maintain organized storage areas for tools, materials, and equipment Assist with light demolition and removal of old materials when needed Perform basic handyman duties such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups, installing hardware, assembling furniture/fixtures, and simple carpentry tasks Help set up and break down temporary site facilities (barriers, signage, protection materials) Ensure walkways, stairs, and work areas remain free of hazards to maintain a safe working environment Operate basic cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, pressure washers, shop vacs, etc.) safely Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols at all times Work collaboratively with construction crews, subcontractors, and supervisors Requirements & Qualifications Previous experience in construction cleanup, general labor, or handyman work preferred Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, standing, climbing ladders) Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, professional job sites Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (preferred) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and punctuality Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments OSHA 10 certification is a plus What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunities for overtime
