A Construction Helper or Worker works at construction sites and projects. Works as a skilled trades worker such as bricklayer, carpenter, painter, electrician or mason, or operates construction equipment.
Overview We are seeking an experienced Skilled Carpenter to join our construction team. This position is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in their craftsmanship and has experience working on high-quality residential construction projects. The Skilled Carpenter will perform both rough and finish carpentry across custom homes and residential remodels. This role requires someone who can work independently, accurately interpret construction plans, problem-solve in the field, and consistently deliver work that meets a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Rough and finish carpentry Framing walls, ceilings, soffits, and structural components Installing doors, windows, trim, baseboards, and casing Custom millwork and architectural details Cabinet installation and adjustments Reading blueprints, plans, and construction drawings Taking accurate measurements and completing precise cuts Installing blocking, backing, and specialty framing Repairing or modifying existing construction during remodels Using saws, routers, nail guns, levels, lasers, and other professional tools Coordinating with superintendents and other trades Maintaining clean, safe, professional job sites Producing work that meets high-end residential finish standards
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of professional carpentry or residential construction experience Strong experience in both rough and finish carpentry Experience working on custom homes, high-end residential projects, or full-home remodels preferred Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications Skilled in framing, trim work, doors, cabinetry, millwork, and other detailed carpentry installations Ability to take precise measurements and perform accurate cuts and installations Proficient with hand tools, power tools, saws, levels, lasers, and standard carpentry equipment Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and job-site safety practices High attention to detail with an emphasis on craftsmanship and quality Ability to identify problems in the field and determine practical solutions Able to work independently as well as alongside superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to maintain a professional appearance on client-facing job sites Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting construction materials and working on ladders Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must have own basic carpentry hand tools; specialty tools can be provided by the company OSHA or other construction safety training is a plus We are looking for a carpenter who views their work as a craft.
