Islip French Drains is seeking dependable Construction Laborers / Drainage Helpers to support residential drainage installations throughout Suffolk County. We are recruiting for three part-time openings. This position offers hands-on training under the direction of an experienced field lead. Previous drainage experience is not required. Successful candidates will be reliable, attentive to instructions, and prepared to perform physical outdoor work as part of a crew. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of French drains, underground drainage pipe, catch basins, dry wells and downspout drainage. Perform hand digging, trench preparation, backfilling and site cleanup as directed. Move and distribute soil, drainage stone and other construction materials. Assist with grading and restoration of work areas. Handle tools and equipment safely within the scope of assigned training. Follow the field lead's instructions and established safety procedures. Maintain a professional and respectful presence on customers' properties.

Qualifications:

Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions, communicate clearly and work cooperatively. Reliable transportation to assigned job sites throughout Suffolk County. Ability to perform essential physical duties, including digging, bending, carrying materials and working outdoors, with or without reasonable accommodation. Construction, landscaping, excavation or plumbing experience is preferred but not required. Equipment operating experience is welcome but not required. Compensation and Schedule $22-$25 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated skills. Part-time employment, up to 24 hours per week. Work is scheduled according to project needs and weather conditions. Weekly hours are not guaranteed. Crew assignments and staffing levels vary by project.
