Islip French Drains is preparing to launch its own residential drainage installation crew serving Suffolk County, Long Island. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on drainage installer who can lead fieldwork and help build a dependable crew.

PAY AND SCHEDULE

$40

• 50 per hour, based on demonstrated drainage installation and crew leadership experience.

This starts as part-time employment on scheduled jobs. Hours will vary; full-time hours and a minimum weekly schedule are not guaranteed. Start date will be agreed after required company licensing, insurance, and payroll setup are complete.

YOUR ROLE

The owner handles marketing, sales, and scheduling. You lead field installation, help assess drainage problems, plan materials and equipment, and supervise a helper. This is a working field leadership position with potential to advance as job volume supports additional crews.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Diagnose standing water, foundation-area drainage problems, and grading issues.
• Install French drains, catch basins, downspout drainage, dry wells, channel drains, and sump discharge piping within the approved project scope.
• Measure elevations with a laser level, calculate and maintain pitch, and evaluate appropriate discharge locations.
• Install PVC and corrugated drainage pipe, fittings, drainage stone, and geotextile correctly.
• Plan trenching, bedding, backfill, compaction, and surface restoration.
• Operate mini excavators and skid steers safely on residential properties.
• Follow 811 requirements, respect utility markings, identify when private utility locating is needed, and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
• Document work with photos, keep the site organized, and communicate clearly with the owner and homeowners.

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Demonstrated hands-on drainage installation experience is required. Relevant backgrounds include drainage, excavation, waterproofing, irrigation, landscaping/sitework, septic, and foundation drainage. You should be able to explain systems you personally installed, how you established elevations and discharge, and how you handled problems or callbacks. Reliable transportation to Suffolk County job sites is required. OSHA training and relevant equipment or trade credentials are welcome; describe the credentials you actually hold.
