Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and possess a variety of skills related to construction and restoration. This role involves performing various tasks that contribute to the beautification and upkeep of residential and commercial properties. The Laborer will work closely with other team members to ensure high-quality results in all landscaping projects. The Lead position mush have some other relevant management experience. Duties Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Collaborate with team members on various projects to achieve desired outcomes. Follow safety protocols while operating machinery such as excavators and other equipment. Manage time and performance of fellow employees. Collect necessary information for payroll and billing. Must be able to work independently. Skills Mechanical knowledge for the operation and maintenance of construction equipment. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely. Familiarity with construction methods related to landscaping projects. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. Physical stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. Concrete experience is a plus.
Knowledge of:
- Tools, including their maintenance.
- Communication hand signals.
- Basic math.
Ability to:
- Learn and follow JLHI Company policies and procedures.
- Perform basic math calculations.
Qualifications:
- Must successfully complete PennDOT Flagger Training Course.
- Must have a valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers .
- Must have current DOT medical card To be considered for this position.
- Prefer a valid Class A CDL.
- Must acquire at least a class B cdl within 60 days of hire.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS REGULAR DRUG SCREENINGS.
Education:
- Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Prefer previous highway construction experience.
Required Training:
- PADOT Flagger Training
Behavior Based Safety-Tool Box Talk Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Ability to walk, bend, lift and stand for long periods of time in outdoor weather.
- Ability to work in field environments with exposure to dust, inclement weather conditions, extreme heat, noise, vibrations and a variety of petroleum products.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to walk and work on uneven terrain.
