Job Title:
Install/Construction Technician Job Description The Install/Construction Technician travels to new and remodeled convenience store locations to complete construction and equipment setup. This role focuses on installing ductwork, cooler boxes, refrigeration units, shelving, and other store fixtures while ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. You will work primarily on the road within a regional territory, using your hands-on construction and mechanical skills to bring new stores to operational readiness. Responsibilities Travel to store locations across Northern Ohio, Southern Michigan, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to complete construction and installation tasks. Install ductwork and cooler boxes in accordance with project specifications and safety guidelines. Set up refrigeration units, soda machines, and food service equipment that sits on counters. Hang kitchen hoods and ensure they are properly aligned and securely mounted. Install decorative foam beams within stores as part of interior finishing work. Perform cabinet work, including installation of cabinets and countertops. Install shelving units and other store fixtures to specified layouts. Use basic hand tools and construction tools safely and effectively to complete daily tasks. Follow detailed directions, project timelines, and schedules to ensure on-time completion of assigned work. Work independently in the field while also collaborating as a team player when on multi-person assignments. Maintain a clean and organized work area at each job site and adhere to all safety procedures. Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance or construction. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with piping, sheet metal, and ductwork. Proficiency with basic hand tools and common construction tools. Ability to work independently while following directions, project plans, and timelines. Demonstrated "jack of all trades" capability across general construction tasks. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively on site. Residence within approximately a 1-hour radius of Youngstown, Ohio. Ability to travel regularly to stores across Northern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Southern Michigan, and West Virginia. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely as part of daily work. Basic construction or facility maintenance experience as a core requirement. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience installing or servicing refrigeration units, soda machines, or food service equipment. Background in cabinet installation, countertop installation, or finish carpentry. Experience installing shelving units and interior decorative elements such as foam beams. Comfort working long shifts, typically 10-hour days from Monday through Thursday, with possible Friday work as needed. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different store layouts and conditions. Reliable transportation to reach various job sites within the assigned territory. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel to different convenience store locations throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia. You typically work Monday through Thursday starting at 6:30 a.m., with 10-hour days and the possibility of additional work on Fridays during busy periods. The work takes place in active construction and renovation environments where you will use basic hand tools and construction equipment to install ductwork, cooler boxes, refrigeration units, shelving, cabinets, countertops, kitchen hoods, and decorative elements. The role involves standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on your feet for extended periods. While on assignment away from home, hotel accommodations are provided, and you receive a daily per diem for expenses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maumee, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
