Job Description

Overview Join our utility construction team as a Utility Pipe Crew Laborer and be a vital part of installing and maintaining essential underground utility systems. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects involving water supply, wastewater, stormwater, and sanitary drainage systems. You will assist skilled operators and crew members in executing construction plans efficiently, ensuring safety and quality at every step. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of underground utilities including sewer lines, water supply systems, stormwater, and sanitary drainage systems following blueprint specifications. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks under supervision to move materials and prepare sites. Use hand tools and power tools for trenching, pipe fitting, concrete finishing, and pipe laser alignment to ensure precise installation. Perform utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents. Follow all safety regulations including federal construction safety standards and site-specific safety protocols during all phases of work. Support pipe installation activities by digging trenches, setting pipes accurately according to construction plans, and ensuring proper connections. Maintain a clean work environment by managing waste disposal and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use. Experience Prior experience working on construction sites with underground utilities installation or related fields such as plumbing. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck is preferred. Understanding of safety regulations related to federal construction standards and underground utility work is essential. Experience with utility system installation projects involving sewer lines, water supply systems, stormwater management or sanitary sewers will set you apart. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely while maintaining a focus on safety and quality. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
