Job Title:
Construction General Laborer Job Description The Construction General Laborer supports construction operations by transporting people, parts, and tools as needed across the job site. This role plays a key part in keeping projects moving efficiently and safely, working both indoors and outdoors and collaborating closely with site teams on day and night shifts. Responsibilities Transport tools, equipment, and materials to designated areas on the job site in a timely and efficient manner. Assist with moving and positioning parts and supplies to support construction activities. Operate a scissor lift safely and in accordance with certification, site rules, and safety procedures. Support construction crews with general labor tasks as directed, including basic site preparation and clean-up. Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate equipment to maintain a safe work area for yourself and others. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to understand daily priorities and task assignments. Work effectively in both indoor and outdoor areas, adapting to changing site conditions. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any issues or hazards promptly. Essential Skills Construction experience with familiarity using common construction tools and equipment. Proven experience operating a scissor lift in a construction or industrial environment. Valid scissor lift certification. Ability to perform physically demanding general labor tasks for extended periods. Reliability and punctuality to support day or night shift operations. Basic understanding of construction site safety practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working as a general laborer on construction projects. Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Strong work ethic and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks as needed. Work Environment The role is based in a construction setting that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas. Day shift positions typically run Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with additional hours available on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Night shift positions operate seven days a week from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. You will work around active construction activities and use equipment such as scissor lifts and standard construction tools. The environment requires appropriate work attire suitable for a construction site, with adherence to all safety practices and use of necessary protective gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
