Job Description

About Ironweed & Oak:
We are a professional construction company committed to quality workmanship, jobsite cleanliness, and an outstanding client experience. We're growing our team and looking for a reliable, hardworking Construction Helper to support our crews on active job sites.
Position Summary:
The Construction Helper assists lead tradespeople and crew leads with day-to-day tasks on residential and/or commercial job sites. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, eager to learn, and takes pride in leaving a clean, professional job site for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist skilled tradespeople (remodelers, tilers,carpenters, etc.) with daily tasks as directed Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each project, including daily debris removal and end-of-day site cleanup Set up and break down job site protection (floor coverings, dust barriers, entry mats, vent covers, etc.) Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely and correctly Measure and make simple, accurate cuts as directed by the lead carpenter Follow all site safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times Communicate professionally and courteously with homeowners and clients on active job sites Support other general labor duties as assigned by the site lead or supervisor
Qualifications:
Approximately 1 year of construction, general labor, or related trade experience Basic familiarity with hand and power tools Strong attention to detail; a careful, precise approach is essential Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions Reliable personal transportation and ability to report to different job site locations Valid driver's license required Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-first attitude Must be able to pass a background check
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing 50+ lbs Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Comfortable working at heights and on ladders as needed (with proper safety equipment)
Compensation & Tool Ownership Program:
As part of Ironweed & Oak's investment in our crew, employees are issued a starter set of jobsite tools upon hire. Upon successful completion of six (6) months of continuous, satisfactory employment , ownership of the issued tool set transfers fully to the employee, at no cost, as a mark of their standing with the company. Continued employment in good standing through the six-month mark is required for tool ownership to vest; tools remain company property until that time. The use of company software is required, employees will receive a $25.00/month cell phone allowance to compensate for usage of company software on their phones. How to
