Job Description

Pay rate is based off experiance. Per diem is offered if you live outside of 50 miles from the plant. Must have construction/modifications/maintenance activities in the industrial field. Construction Manager (CM) I-III Plans and ensures the coordination of assigned projects and has the responsibility of oversight for the field activities of assigned projects. The CM ensures that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget and schedule are followed as planned. This position is additionally ultimately responsible for ensuring that the work is implemented in accordance with all design and planning specifications. The CM monitors worker performance and the progress of the project and reports to the Project Manager. He/she is responsible for all field activities on the project and sees to it that the project is completed on time and in accordance with the companies standards and expectations.

Construction Manager:
Provides oversight of field activities to ensure proper site safety, project progress, quality control and conformance to site standards and expectations are enacted. Responsible for overall field implementation of small to large-sized projects. Conduct or assist with pre-construction conferences, supervise and direct field staff that may include inspectors, construction materials testers, and administrative personnel. As required by project management, communicate with various organizations to ensure the smooth flow of support for the assigned project. Conduct site meetings, dealing with Contractor(s) work progress, schedule reviews, and construction coordination. Maintain project log and documentation files. Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs. Provide issue resolution arising from the inspection process or from contract administration. Plan and schedule the onsite staff and staff that come to the site on an intermittent basis. Coordinate construction efforts through in-house and contract labor/service for new construction and plant modifications. Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, scheduling, and performance. Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, contractor relations and any deviation in the direction of the project. Ensure contract expectations relating to all construction activities are in compliance with design specifications by working closely with prime contractor as well as with field engineers. Works with the Field Engineer to develop punch lists to ensure all activities are addressed and executed in a timely manner. Coordinate necessary licenses and permits for work activities. Prepare system turnover packages; assist in the develop of construction procedures and instructions required for field implementation of work in accordance with nuclear plant programs. Education and Experience Requirements for
Construction Manager:
Bachelor of Science Construction Management degree (or equivalent) with at least 1-8 years field experience directing construction/modifications/maintenance activities in the industrial field (at least one year of which must be at a Nuclear Facility) or High School diploma (or equivalent) with at least 10 years field experience directing construction/modification/ maintenance activities in the industrial field (at least one year of which must be at a Nuclear Power Facility). Must possess strong technical knowledge of job related systems, operating processes, performance and production cost factors. Must be familiar with PC software, spreadsheets and database applications. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, both oral and written communication skills, and human relations skills.
