Superintendent Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to join our growing team based in Phoenix, AZ. This is a long-term position, created to meet the demands of our current projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for onsite field management, ensuring the smooth operation of construction activities. Responsibilities Provide onsite field management, typically on a single project, managing on-site safety, subcontractors, suppliers, and self-performed work. Assist in implementing project-specific safety and accident prevention programs and maintain safe work areas through regular job-site inspections. Coordinate, schedule, and manage all subcontractors and suppliers, selecting construction practices and methods for accomplishing the work. Prepare weekly look-ahead schedules, crew task lists, and daily reports. Prepare labor tracking reports. Maintain a thorough understanding of project schedule and budget, enforcing plans and motivating employees to follow through. Assist the project superintendent in locating/onboarding manpower, developing/implementing project plans, and maintaining current contract documents. Schedule and manage multiple crews performing various tasks across the project site. Allocate resources, plan activities, review work, and manage consumables/equipment, including compiling a comprehensive bill of materials and coordinating deliveries. Work closely with foremen and superintendents to monitor all activities. Prepare subcontractor agreements and supplier agreements and manage communication regarding any changes in work or project costs. Assist in creating project CAD drawings. Responsible for quality control, schedules, and plan production. Delegate work and provide technical guidance to ensure design is technically sound and cost-efficient. Assist with project and team management and mentor other design staff. Process plans and resolve issues with plan reviewers. Essential Skills 5+ years of Superintendent experience with facilities construction projects. Experience in water/wastewater, oil/gas construction, or facilities with electrical/mechanical components. Knowledge of how pump stations and lift stations work. Experience in reading blueprints. Experience in scheduling and managing field crews. Experience in creating weekly look-ahead schedules. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with industrial construction, wastewater, and mechanical construction. Subcontractor management experience. Familiarity with pipeline construction. Work Environment Projects are located around the Peoria, Glendale, and Phoenix metro areas, including water treatment plants, lift stations, booster stations, and reclamation facilities. This is a salaried position, generally working from Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm, with flexibility required based on project demands. The role will be almost 100% field-based on project sites. No out-of-state travel is required. A vehicle allowance of $700/month and a gas card are provided; a company truck may be used if available.
