General Description of Job Duties :

The Superintendent will lead and manage the on-site construction team, and oversee all work on site. The Superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are available on site at all times. Classification (Exempt/Non-Exempt): Exempt (salaried)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage on-site construction activities as the designated Project Manager Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors and vendors to complete each project on time Coordinate and overseeing all work on site. Attend production meetings. Review and become familiar with the schedule and budget, and ensure adherence to these. Ensure quality standards are met. Place orders for materials, and being responsible for equipment and materials on site. Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project. Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently. Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site. Work with Project Manager and in the development and refinement of the project schedule, to keep the schedules properly updated, and see that the job meets the completion date. Study specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times. Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times to conform to work schedules. Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules. Prepare or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated on reports. Complete Daily Field Production Reports on a daily basis. Ensure company employees and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy.

Experience and Qualifications:

5+ years Construction experience working in the capacity of Superintendent. Knowledgeable in General Building and Civil construction. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information. Manages difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, and responds well to questions. Current First Aid/CPR/AED. OSHA 30 certification a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others. Must pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check. Physical Demands - A qualified individual must be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation: Sitting and/or standing/walking for long periods on uneven ground Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally Twisting, reaching overhead, pulling, pushing Ability to work at heights (e.g., on ladders, scaffolding) and in confined spaces (such as trenches or manholes) as required by the project Use hands to handle tools and heavy equipment, and reach with arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision (for reading plans/computer screens), distance vision, and depth perception. The employee could be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, and will work near heavy machinery and moving vehicles The noise level on site is often loud, and the environment may involve dust and fumes. Appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, etc.) is required at all times. Work may occasionally be at heights or in confined spaces The employee is required to follow all safety policies and procedures and to actively participate in safety trainings and meetings.
