Unlike larger contractors where responsibilities may be divided across multiple layers, our Project Managers have direct visibility into project performance, strong client interaction, and the ability to make an immediate impact. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, financial management, and successful delivery of commercial retail and civil projects including Civil Improvements, Gas Stations, Car Washes, Convenience Stores, Tenant Improvements, Big Box Retail, Automotive, and Ground-Up Commercial Construction. Working closely with the Superintendent, the Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout. The role is responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, documentation, client communication, and overall project performance, along with other assignments and job responsibilities as they come up. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, client-focused, and comfortable taking ownership of multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Coordination Manage assigned projects from preconstruction and startup through completion and closeout Partner closely with the Superintendent to align field operations, schedule, budget, quality, and project objectives Coordinate clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams Lead project kickoff, progress, and subcontractor coordination meetings Identify project risks, conflicts, and potential delays and develop solutions to keep projects moving forward Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners Provide guidance and support to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project team members as applicable Financial, Schedule & Documentation Management Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, costs, and overall financial performance Manage subcontractor contracts, purchase orders, invoices, payment applications, and change orders Track project costs and identify potential budget variances early Work with the Superintendent to develop and maintain project schedules and key milestones Coordinate procurement, long-lead materials, subcontractors, and project resources Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, drawings, specifications, and correspondence Ensure project records and financial information remain accurate and current Support in developing company policies and procedures Client & Subcontractor Management Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle Communicate project status, schedule, budget, changes, risks, and upcoming milestones Participate in subcontractor selection, scope review, coordination, and performance management Ensure subcontractors understand project expectations, schedules, scope, safety, and quality requirements Build trust with clients through timely communication, problem-solving, and follow-through Safety, Quality & Closeout Partner with the Superintendent to support Caliber Novaa's safety standards and project-specific requirements Monitor project quality to ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, codes, and client expectations Support inspections, punch lists, corrective actions, and final completion Coordinate project closeout documentation, warranties, as-builts, and other required deliverables Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to Caliber Novaa's quality standards

Reliable in meeting commitments and following through under pressure Qualifications 5+ years of verifiable commercial construction experience Previous experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar construction project-management role Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation Experience in sectors such as Gas Stations, Retail and Big Box, Automotive, Car Washes, Convenience Stores, Tenant Improvements, Ground-Up Commercial Construction, and Civil Improvements Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work Strong client-facing, communication, and subcontractor-management skills
Travel Flexibility:
Willingness and ability to travel to project sites throughout California and Oregon. Travel is project-dependent. Flights, lodging, mileage, and per diem expenses are covered.
Software Requirements:
Proficiency with Procore, MS Project/Excel, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred OSHA 10/30 or other relevant safety certifications preferred

$120,000- $150,000

Bonuses tied to project milestones, schedule performance, quality, financial performance, and successful project completion
