Key ResponsibilitiesSite Leadership & Operational Accountability Provide daily leadership and oversight of center operations, educational quality, staffing, and program performance. Take ownership of center operations, assigned responsibilities, performance expectations, and organizational goals. Independently manage priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure timely completion of operational requirements. Implement, monitor, and reinforce A Place 2 Grow's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and protocols. Ensure consistent compliance with applicable California Community Care Licensing requirements, Title 5 regulations, and organizational standards. Oversee staffing assignments, classroom coverage, child supervision, and required teacher-to-child ratios. Monitor enrollment, attendance, required documentation, and operational reporting. Identify operational concerns, evaluate options, and implement solutions within established authority and organizational procedures. Communicate proactively with executive leadership regarding progress, challenges, staffing needs, and program improvement opportunities. Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and professional center environment. Educational Leadership & Classroom Support Serve as an instructional leader and mentor who provides active, hands-on classroom support. Model developmentally appropriate teaching practices, meaningful child interactions, and positive classroom management. Support teachers with curriculum planning, classroom organization, and engaging educational experiences. Encourage creative, hands-on activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development. Conduct classroom observations and provide meaningful, constructive instructional feedback. Promote consistent implementation of the organization's adopted curriculum while encouraging creativity within established program guidelines. Provide direct classroom instructional support and teaching assistance as needed while maintaining responsibility for supervisory and operational leadership. Support individualized instruction that reflects children's developmental needs, abilities, languages, and cultures. Collaborate with teachers to enhance classroom quality and children's learning experiences. DRDP Assessments & Curriculum Implementation Demonstrated hands-on experience with the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) is
REQUIRED.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of DRDP assessment requirements, observations, developmental documentation, and assessment completion. Mentor teachers in collecting meaningful observations and accurate developmental documentation. Review DRDP assessments for accuracy, completeness, and quality. Monitor assessment timelines and hold staff accountable for meeting established deadlines. Use DRDP results to guide individualized learning goals, curriculum planning, and instructional strategies. Coach teachers on effective observation techniques, assessment practices, and the use of developmental data. Ensure consistent implementation of the organization's curriculum and assessment procedures. Support continuous quality improvement using assessment outcomes. Experience with Frog Street Curriculum is strongly preferred , including lesson planning, implementation, and instructional coaching. Staff Leadership, Mentorship & Accountability Direct, supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate lead, associate, and assistant teachers. Establish clear performance expectations and ensure employees understand their responsibilities. Promote a respectful, positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace. Conduct staff observations, coaching sessions, performance evaluations, and professional development activities. Address performance concerns promptly and fairly through constructive feedback, coaching, and appropriate corrective action. Maintain accountability for staff attendance, punctuality, documentation, classroom practices, and professional conduct. Provide input and recommendations regarding hiring, employee performance, advancement, and disciplinary matters. Recognize staff accomplishments and support opportunities for professional growth. Lead productive staff meetings and promote open, respectful communication. Model professionalism, emotional maturity, effective conflict resolution, and ethical leadership. Family Partnerships & Community Engagement Develop positive, trusting relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment that respects cultural, linguistic, and individual differences. Maintain consistent, professional communication regarding children's development, classroom experiences, and program expectations. Address parent questions and concerns with empathy, professionalism, confidentiality, and timely follow-through. Collaborate with families to support each child's developmental needs and educational success. Encourage meaningful family engagement and participation. Required QualificationsEducation - REQUIRED Associate of Arts/Science (AA/AS) or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Education and professional experience sufficient to satisfy the applicable California Site Supervisor qualification requirements. California Site Supervisor Permit or Eligibility - REQUIRED Candidates must: Currently hold a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit, Program Director Permit, or other qualifying authorization , OR Meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Candidates who do not currently hold the permit must be able to demonstrate eligibility through qualifying education, coursework, and professional experience. Experience & Skills - REQUIRED Minimum of two years of experience in early childhood education leadership, supervision, or comparable instructional leadership. Hands-on DRDP assessment experience , including developmental observations, documentation, assessment completion, and use of results for instructional planning. Demonstrated experience mentoring, supervising, coaching, and supporting early childhood educators. Strong knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum implementation, and classroom management. Knowledge of California childcare licensing requirements and applicable early childhood education regulations. Demonstrated ability to independently manage responsibilities, follow established SOPs, meet deadlines, and maintain accountability. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment, make appropriate decisions, and communicate effectively with staff and administration. Genuine passion for working with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Willingness and ability to provide hands-on classroom and instructional support. Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing and mentoring teachers in Frog Street Curriculum. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus , particularly for communicating with Spanish-speaking children, families, and staff. Experience with CCTR or other California state-funded early childhood education programs. Experience providing instructional coaching, conducting classroom observations, and leading professional development. Experience with quality improvement initiatives and using DRDP data to strengthen educational outcomes. Additional Requirements Successful completion of required criminal background clearance. TB clearance and applicable health screenings. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire. Completion of mandated reporter training and other required health and safety training within applicable deadlines. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, stand for extended periods, and participate actively in classroom and playground activities.
