Job Summary We are hiring a Construction Project Manager for active federal projects located on the NIST campus in Boulder, CO. This role will manage construction projects from planning through completion, including subcontractor coordination, scheduling, project documentation, client communication, budgets, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project progress. The company has several active projects on the same campus. Projects include multiple scopes, with a strong emphasis on MEP and mechanical work such as chillers, water rerouting, large pipe, controls, decoupling, and related systems. Candidates must be U.S. citizens for site access and must be able to pass federal project background and drug screening requirements. Responsibilities Manage commercial/federal construction projects from planning through completion Oversee project schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal project staff Manage multiple scopes of work, including MEP and mechanical-heavy scopes Support project planning, procurement, production, and closeout Review drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders Track project progress and communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders Identify project risks, issues, delays, and scope changes Work closely with superintendents and field teams to keep projects moving Communicate with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal leadership Support quality control, safety expectations, and project compliance Maintain organized project files and documentation Help ensure work is completed on time, safely, and according to project requirements Qualifications 5+ years of construction project management experience preferred Commercial construction experience required General contractor experience strongly preferred Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders MEP, mechanical, piping, controls, or infrastructure-related project experience is a plus Federal or government project experience is preferred, but not required Ability to manage one larger project or multiple smaller projects at once Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills Safety-focused and quality-driven Must be a U.S. citizen for site access Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening No felony background due to federal project requirements Preferred Experience Federal, government, institutional, campus, lab, or secure-site construction experience Experience with NIST, military, VA, federal, or similar regulated project environments Mechanical-heavy project experience Chillers, water rerouting, large pipe, controls, decoupling, or MEP coordination experience Experience managing both self-performed and subcontracted scopes Experience managing 4-6 smaller projects simultaneously is a plus Compensation & Benefits $100,000-$110,000+/year Medical benefits FSA $400 monthly vehicle reimbursement Gas card 3 weeks PTO to start 10 paid holidays Additional PTO earned every other year Option to cash out half of accrued PTO annually 401(k) with 4% match Additional benefits offered What We're Looking For We are looking for a strong Construction Project Manager who can manage commercial/federal projects, coordinate subcontractors, communicate clearly, and keep projects organized from start to finish.
