EXPERIENCED FIELD MEASURE / LAYOUT TECHNICIAN & PROJECT MANAGER
Arcadia Outdoor Living - South Florida Urgently Hiring | Full-Time | Competitive Pay Arcadia Outdoor Living is seeking an experienced Field Measure / Layout Technician & Project Manager to join our growing outdoor living construction company. This is a well-paid, full-time position for the right candidate with extensive hands-on experience in the aluminum construction and outdoor living industry. We specialize in custom fabricated aluminum pergolas, insulated patio covers, screen enclosures, custom outdoor kitchens, hardscapes, and foundation work.IMPORTANT - INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
This is not an entry-level position and is not a position where we will be teaching the fundamentals of aluminum construction, field measuring, material ordering, or installation. Candidates must already have substantial knowledge and experience with this type of construction and be capable of independently evaluating, measuring, laying out, ordering materials for, and managing aluminum construction projects.QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will have: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the aluminum construction, screen enclosure, patio cover, pergola, or outdoor living industry Strong knowledge of South Florida construction practices Knowledge and understanding of current Florida and Miami-Dade building code requirements and engineered construction specifications Experience reading engineering drawings, construction plans, surveys, and site plans Strong field measuring and construction layout skills Ability to competently create material takeoffs and order aluminum, roofing, fasteners, hardware, and other materials required for aluminum construction projects Working knowledge of aluminum construction methods and the materials and components used to build pergolas, patio covers, and screen enclosures Ability to communicate directly with installers and subcontractors regarding construction details, layouts, engineering requirements, and installation procedures Ability to identify potential installation problems before construction begins Excellent attention to detail and strong quality-control standards Professional communication skills and the ability to interact directly with homeowners Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Basic field measurement and layout toolsRESPONSIBILITIES
Travel to client job sites throughout South Florida to perform detailed pre-construction field measurements and site evaluations. Evaluate existing site conditions, including deck elevations and grading, wall squareness, attachment conditions, footer locations, setbacks, access issues, and other factors that could affect installation. Identify existing and proposed electrical, water, drain, and gas connection locations for outdoor kitchens, pergolas, lighting, fans, TVs, and related features. Take accurate field measurements and prepare clear layout drawings documenting the proposed project. Take detailed site photographs and organize field information so it can be provided to our engineering, permitting, fabrication, and installation teams. Review engineered plans and project specifications against actual field conditions. Prepare accurate material takeoffs and competently order the materials required for aluminum construction projects. Identify potential obstacles, discrepancies, or installation difficulties before materials are ordered or fabricated and before installation crews arrive on site. Communicate directly with installers to review project layouts, construction details, engineering requirements, material specifications, and any special installation instructions. Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects, providing clear direction to installers and subcontractors when field questions arise. Monitor installation work and job progress to ensure projects are being completed according to plans, specifications, and company quality standards. Perform job-site quality-control inspections and identify workmanship issues or incomplete items. Prepare detailed punch lists and follow through with installers to ensure corrections and outstanding items are properly completed. Maintain a sharp eye for workmanship and construction details to help prevent problems and maintain a high level of quality control throughout each project. Act as a professional and friendly point of contact for homeowners throughout the construction process and answer basic project and site-related questions. Help ensure projects are properly planned, accurately measured, correctly ordered, professionally installed, and completed according to approved plans and specifications.TERRITORY
This position covers our South Florida territory from Port St. Lucie through Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. Regular travel to client job sites is required.READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
