Job Description

Pool Contractor Pool Construction Florida Jacksonville, FL Job Details Contract $80 - $100 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer follow-ups Construction sales Residential construction project management Pricing Contractor management Customer relationship building Coordinating with subcontractors on construction projects Phone communication Managing construction estimation projects Construction project management Swimming pool construction projects Construction team management Estimating construction project budgets High-end sales Managing teams in a construction management role Construction subcontract management Managing projects Sales follow-up Full Job Description Pool Contractor — Sales, Design & Construction Jacksonville, FL | Independent Contractor | 80% of Contract Value We are building out our Jacksonville pool operation and are looking for experienced pool contractors who can both sell and build residential swimming pools. This is a different model from a traditional pool-company job. We handle the marketing, generate the homeowners, support the sales process, prepare the proposal, manage the customer through the closing process, and provide the business infrastructure. You are the local pool expert who meets the homeowner, designs the project, determines the construction requirements, and ultimately builds it. If you already know how to build pools and can sell homeowners on your work, this gives you a way to operate with a steady flow of opportunities without having to build the entire marketing and sales operation yourself.
THE SALES / ESTIMATING SIDE
When we generate a pool lead, we send the opportunity to you. Your first responsibility is to contact the homeowner and take ownership of the local sales process.
You will:
Call and text the homeowner Schedule the site visit Visit the property Understand exactly what the homeowner wants Discuss pool styles, features, finishes, decking, equipment, etc. Take measurements Evaluate the property and existing conditions Determine what can realistically be built Create the pool design Calculate the construction requirements and costs Provide us with the information needed to put the project together You are the person physically seeing the property and talking to the customer, so we need someone who can look at a backyard and immediately start thinking through design, construction, pricing, and feasibility. You should be able to walk into a homeowner's backyard and understand what the project is going to require. We handle the proposal and sales infrastructure. Once you provide the measurements, design, scope, and cost information, our team takes over the proposal-building and administrative side.
We handle things such as:
Proposal generation Professional presentation of the project Customer-facing sales materials Follow-up systems CRM management Lead tracking Sales pipeline management Administrative coordination Closing support Customer communication throughout the sales process You will still communicate with the homeowner by phone and text and remain involved in the relationship, but you are not expected to spend your time building proposals, managing a CRM, or creating the entire sales system from scratch. Our infrastructure is built to take a lot of that work off your plate. Your job is to be the local expert and face of the project.
THEN YOU BUILD IT
Once the customer signs, you are responsible for turning the project you sold into a finished pool. This is where the second half of the opportunity comes in. You will manage the construction of the pool and coordinate the people and resources required to complete it. You should be comfortable managing things such as: Excavation Pool construction Plumbing Electrical coordination Pool equipment Tile Coping Interior finishes Decking Grading and drainage Inspections Subcontractors Crews Jobsite coordination Final completion and startup You do not necessarily need to personally perform every trade. If you already have excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, finish, or other subcontractors you regularly work with, that is completely fine. What matters is that you know how to run the project and are accountable for getting it completed correctly. You sell it. You estimate it. You design it. You build it. THE 80% MODEL This is the most important part of the opportunity. You receive 80% of the total contract value.
For example:
$100,000 pool $80,000 → Your side $20,000 → HN The 80% is your complete construction allocation.
Your:
Labor Materials Subcontractors Equipment Construction overhead And profit all come out of your 80%. We are not paying you an hourly wage on top of that. You are essentially operating your own construction side of the business while plugging into the marketing, sales, and administrative infrastructure that we have already built.
Example You sell a:
$100,000 pool Your allocation: $80,000 If your total construction cost is: $62,000 You have: $18,000 remaining That is your gross profit from the project before your other business expenses. This means your ability to estimate accurately and manage construction efficiently directly affects how much money you make. Someone who knows their numbers can do extremely well with this model. Someone who underestimates a project will feel that mistake themselves. We want contractors who understand that.
WHAT HN PROVIDES
The reason we retain 20% is because you are not being asked to create the entire business yourself. HN is building the infrastructure around you.
We provide:
Lead Generation We invest in marketing to generate homeowners looking for pools. You don't have to spend your own money trying to find every customer. Sales Infrastructure We provide the CRM, lead tracking, follow-up systems, proposal infrastructure, and administrative processes surrounding the sale. Proposal Support You provide the technical information, measurements, design, scope, and costs. We turn that information into the customer-facing proposal. Customer Acquisition Our marketing operation is responsible for putting the opportunity in front of you in the first place. Administrative Support We handle much of the paperwork, organization, tracking, and back-end management surrounding the project. A Business Platform You are not starting from zero. The goal is to give an experienced pool contractor the ability to focus on what they are actually good at: Meeting homeowners → designing pools → selling projects → building pools.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
This model works when the contractor can operate independently. We are looking for someone who: Has significant residential pool construction experience Has personally estimated pool projects Understands pool construction costs Can create pool designs Can accurately measure properties Can communicate confidently with homeowners Has experience selling high-ticket construction Can follow up consistently by phone and text Has a strong understanding of pool construction Can manage subcontractors and crews Can run multiple projects without constant supervision Takes ownership of the customer relationship Understands margins and construction economics Has reliable people they can bring onto projects Can represent the company professionally We are not looking for someone who only knows how to build. And we are not looking for someone who only knows how to sell.
We want the combination:
Sales ability + pool expertise + construction ability.
Pay:
$80.00 - $100.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
Benefits:
Flexible schedule Application Question(s): How many years of experience do you have building residential swimming pools? What is your average close rate? Out of 10 pool estimate appointments, approximately how many would you typically close? How much pool construction work can you realistically take on per month? Please estimate in number of projects. Do you operate as a solo contractor, or do you have a team/crew? If you have a team, approximately how many people? Are you currently located in Jacksonville, FL? If selected, how soon would you be available to begin taking on projects?
